Essential/Primary Job Functions:
  • Conduct classes to train employees or customers of industrial establishments in Confined Space Entry, Confined Space Rescue, High Angle Rescue, First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP, and Safety. 
  • Adhere to guidelines that are put in place to assure uniform training companywide.
  • Work in conjunction with the Rescue Director and management to determine training objectives
  • Lecture class on the approved training objectives using handouts, props and visual aids. 
  • Demonstrate the procedures that are being taught and evaluates the class on ability and comprehension of the subjects. 
  • Able to demonstrate the training elements and properly evaluate students on the given criteria. 
  • Coordinate training schedules with Rescue staff and Rescue Manager.
  • Conduct training sessions covering specific areas such as new hire, on the job training, refresher training and specialized training.
  • Report progress and effectiveness of training sessions and seeks constructive feedback to continue to elevate the level of Rescue training within the organization.
  • Utilize effective evaluation tools to measure results/impact of learning and develops metrics for Rescue Director and Management team to fully understand current state of training, expense and impact.
  • Continuously Audit Rescue Training Kits / Equipment that they are in satisfactory condition
  • Work as a Lead Rescue Technician during non-training periods
  • Ensure all training is tracked in Training Manager.
  • Ability to travel nationwide up to 50% of the time delivering training.
  • Work as a Lead Rescue Technician during non-training periods
Experience Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an instructor preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years Technical Rescue experience including petrochemical
  • Advanced knowledge of training criteria including OSHA confined space/general safety standards, NFPA rescue standards, etc.
  • Preferred instructor certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP Instructor and OSHA 500 or 501
Other Skills/Requirements:
  • TWIC card holder
  • High School Diploma/GED, some college preferred
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to successfully function independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test/Background screening.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work up to 7 days a week; and/or 8-12 hour a day, weekends and holidays.
  • Shift flexibility; days or nights.
  • Follow Company Policies, Procedures and “Yes” Attitude.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Ascend to heights up to 300 feet or greater using stairs or a ladder
  • Work in a confined space 
  • Meet body weight restrictions per Customer Job Specification 
  • Lift/move up to 50 pounds to chest level; lift/move up to 25 pounds above head
  • Able to walk over one mile in full PPE equipment to/from the Customer Job Site
  • Able to wear the required PPE for extended hours in various types of environmental conditions
  • Stand for a minimum of 2½ hours 
  • Kneel, crouch or crawl in internal and external environment 
  • Have excellent vision and hearing; ability to discern colors
  • Meet other additional Customer Specifications such as: MEQ required prior to Employment 
  • Must be able to follow client written and verbal requirement
